About Us

We are a group of personalities of lovely souls dedicated to spreading the love to the land and people. The Crew is made up the Vahana Goats, two Border Collies, one Guardian Dog, and a few Humans over the years. As you have probably noticed, Horses were also once part of the crew, but we have down sized since our Wild and Woolley days!

The Vahana Goats

You can call us the “Weed Eaters with Hooves.” We have the skills (and the mouths) to help you with your vegetation. The Vahana Goats offer a quiet, natural, enjoyable, eco-friendly, effective alternative to herbicides or noisy equipment. We are offering our target grazing services and eco-education trekking programs within the East Kootenay, British Columbia.

The Vahana Herd are well travelled and highly experienced in target grazing. Since 2017, we have been travelling to and working for places like the City of Calgary, City of Merritt, City of Quesnel, Ministry of Forests – Quesnel and the Ktunaxa Nation.  They provide entertainment and beauty as they turn vegetation into valuable fertilizer for the land. The adventures and beauty the Vahana Goats have created has been unforgettable, healing and revolutionary.

Vahana Goats are a Spanish Breed who grow luscious cashmere. The original group of that first came to the Coyle place originated from two reputable cashmere farms: Harmony Farms Cashmere and Redeemers Garden Cashmere.

The Humans

The Humans that have helped and worked for Vahana have been a colourful bunch! All had experiences that were uniquely soul satisfying and they took the very best care of the Vahana Goats, Diamond the Horse and all the working dogs.

We would like to express our highest gratitude to a very special man who was a catalyst for the beginning of the whole business. Ali Coyle was that man. He pushed us to buy goats, he built fences, he built shelters, he hauled goats, he loaded hay, he unloaded hay, he bought the first electric fence. Ali and Dawnna Coyle were two beginning forces of Vahana and he will never be forgotten.

The Guardian of the Galaxy

Molly Isha is The Guardian for the Vahana Herd and she is strong and spectacular! By night she is The Great Protectress, and her brother, Bear, is with her in Spirit as she protects the herd at night. By day, she is our therapy dog, spreading the love.

The Working Dogs

The Border Collies and The Jack – Bellah, Clover & Winston
The Jack came before them all! This little guy took a crack a herding goats
before we were even a company, and the goats listened! The two sisters –
Bellah and Clover: what a pair! They work together to keep the Vahana
Goats moving forward on their grazing path, or slow them down when
moving to a new area. These beautiful girls help us load the goats into the
stock trailers and they give excellent cuddles when they’re off duty.

Bellah and Cailey have been working together since 2016. A good friend, Penny Ohanjanyan, put Cailey and Bellah together. The first summer they worked with the Rocky Ridge goat herd of 350 goats and they got to know each other really well!! Bellah is a willing partner and joy to work with! Always “on” she’s ready to go at a moments whistle. Check out this short little video of her having fun in the snow, Winter of 2017-2018.
